Not only because the cause is so worthy -- providing a loving home and quality education to orphan children in Nepal -- but because the woman behind Rising Lotus Children's Village, Tracy Brandt, is as good as human beings get. Her relentless efforts to found and sustain this organization never cease to amaze and inspire me.

When I first met Tracy, the organization was operating under a different name and Tracy was running the entire U.S. side of operations herself, out of her own pocket, while also parenting two small children. (The woman is a machine!) Tracy asked me for help in getting the organization on track with marketing and fundraising. What I'm actually helping her do is completely rebrand the organization.

If ever an organization needed a compelling brand story, Rising Lotus Children's Village is it. Tracy has taken on a cause in a very needy but not high-profile part of the world. Championing this cause is no easy task. But in the time we've worked together, I've helped Tracy's organization craft a new name, a new logo, new brand language, and some solid collateral (still working on the website. Finding a great web developer who will work for a nonprofit's pittance-of-a-payment is also no easy task). I also steered creative concept on their promotional video, wrote a successful grant winning them critically-needed funding, crafted content for several successful special events, and helped conceptualize their new year-long Got Karma? campaign (launching 2011, and it is so cute and clever).

As for what's next: Rising Lotus has already signed on to be among the first clients to benefit from my new service options. The new comprehensive online marketing strategy I'm crafting for them will anchor their outreach and fundraising efforts (online and offline) for the next full year. I'm super excited by what we've come up with so far to help ensure the kids in Tracy's care get all the support and resources that they need!
